I. Short Bio
Jeffrey F. Bordelon is an attorney with a background in real estate, business formation, land use law, land use and natural resource conservation planning, project management, sustainable economic development, and community organizing. He has both public and private sector experience. In the public sector Mr. Bordelon has worked for the Statewide California Coastal Commission, California Resource Conservation Districts, the State Resource Conservation Commission, and various public clients. As a practicing attorney and planning consultant for over 30 years, he has performed permit coordination and project management functions for land development projects, performed contract preparation and negotiation work on major real estate transactions, been involved in the resolution of land use and environmental problems for private landowners, and participated in the formulation of general plans, zoning, and other public policy. Mr. Bordelon continues to practice law in the areas of land use, business formation, construction, commercial leasing, major investment property acquisitions, project management, and conservation easements and planning. He also working actively on the development and deployment of community sustainability networks, processes for creating the social capital needed to empower communities to create a sustainable future. He is the organizer and President of PlacerSustain, Inc, a California non-profit model community sustainability network program.

The formation and essential operational requirements for corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, and a working knowledge of governmental operational authority, procedures, and budgetary process. Also, program design and organizational development in a wide variety of organizational settings.

III. Chronological Work Experience
- Development Research Associates – Research Analyst. 1969-1972. Research Analyst for Development Research Associates in Los Angeles and Chicago. Travel across the United States. Preparation of reports for both public and private sector clients– assignments included land use marketability studies, industrial site location, community redevelopment, and recreation and tourism economic development research.
- California Coastal Zone Conservation Commission – Appeals Analyst. 1972 to 1975. Employment by the statewide Commission as a Planning and Appeals Analyst. Responsible for the preparation of planning documents and appeal recommendations for development projects along the California coastline. Work included involvement in the development of Coastal Zone Management Plan.
- Placer County and Nevada County, California, Resource Conservation Districts – Program Director. 1975 to 1978. Program Director responsible for all aspects of the administration of its various programs, including supervision of 10 employees. Local, state and federal program grant procural. Preparation of sedimentation control plans for both Nevada and Placer County, draft grading ordinances, surface mining reclamation program, and watershed management planning.
- California Resource Conservation Commission – Executive Director. Interim six month appointment as the Executive Officer of the statewide California Resource Conservation Commission. Leadership in the design and promotion of a new program for the Commission and Resource Districts.
- Law Practice. 1977 to Present. Partner in law office from 1977 to 2002. Solo practice from November 2002 to the present. Based in Placer County, California.
- Bordelon and Associates—Land Use and Conservation Planning, and Brokerage Services. 2005 to present. Principal owner of land development, planning, and real estate brokerage firm providing services in the areas of Site Selection, Property Due Diligence, Project Feasibility Analysis, Land Use and Environmental Entitlements, Coordination of Outside Consultants, Financing, Construction Administration, and Major property brokerage—site acquisition and sale. Also, consulting services related to the design and implementation of community based sustainability initiatives.

IV. Education and Licenses
Beloit College, Beloit, Wisconsin majoring in sociology, and received a LLB from Lincoln University Law School, Sacramento, California in 1977. He has taught real estate and land use law at a local state college, and conducted various seminars on matters of interest to land use professionals. Mr. Bordelon is a licensed California Attorney and Real Estate Broker. He has taken advanced leadership training and coaching.
